Honeywell PLC Software Engineer II in Mason, Ohio

As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications for our Industrial Automation business. You will work on a team of talented engineers to design, code, test, and debug software solutions that meet customer requirements. Your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that drive efficiency and productivity in industrial processes.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development of software solutions that enable our customers to optimize their industrial processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, design software solutions, and ensure the successful implementation of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications for industrial automation systems • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define software specifications • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices • Conduct unit testing and debugging of software applications • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards • 20% domestic travel to domestic travel

YOU MUST HAVE

• 2+ years of experience in software development • 2+ years of experience working with Hytrol Sorters • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python • Experience working with Allen-Bradley Programable Logic Controllers (PLC)

WE VALUE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering, or related field • Experience with industrial automation systems • Knowledge of software development methodologies and tools • Familiarity with Agile development practices
