Description SUPERVISOR DISTRIBUTION Supervises, plans and monitors warehouse functions may include shipping, receiving, inventory control and safety/security with the warehouse to ensure smooth and consistent operations as well as customer satisfaction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises warehouse functions may include receiving product, counting and incoming inspection, resolving discrepancies, storing product, picking orders, packing and/or shipping of orders. Interfaces with a variety of individuals and teams internally and externally which may include customer service, accounting, technical services, dealers, consumers, distributors and/or sales representatives. Oversees inventory control practices including conducting of physical counts, performing reconciliation of variances and recommending process improvements as appropriate. Oversees and plans each day's workload, balances and distributes daily work assignments and makes adjustments as needed to meet or exceed customer needs and satisfaction. Ensures and oversees department safety which includes establishing safety/security procedures, actively providing training on established procedures and methods. Monitors and improves quality within the department by providing warehouse information for strategic plans and reviews; and providing and implementing production, productivity, quality, and service standards improvements. Responsible for warehouse documentation, data entry, reporting and invoicing. Performs reporting on department activity and analysis to measure the effectiveness/efficiency of department activities. Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance and calling for repairs. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Continuously searches and provides recommendations for methods to improve the warehouse (employees, processes and equipment) and quality of service provided. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises the daily activities for a team, ensures productivity, sets priorities and manages work schedules. Provides input on resource planning and policy development. Trains/coaches team members on performance, completes performance evaluations and recommends pay actions. Participates in and provides input into hiring and termination decisions. May provides input into the department budget and control expenses. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience, which includes at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Extensive knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations, methods and practices, Ability to quickly make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce to meet immediate, changing demands. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to create communications and effective work with internal and external teams. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook to write reports and develop correspondence. Experience in using ERP and data warehouse processing software. Knowledge of scanner technology and MRP systems. Excellent time management and organizational skills plus ability to work independently or on a team. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Skills in operating a forklift or required to learn within first 6 months of hire. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers with the assistance of a calculator/PC. Ability to effectively communicate in English in certain international locations. (As requir d by site).
