Job Title: At-Risk Aide (Guided Study Hall)

Job Brief:

  • To lead and direct 7th and 8th grade students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.
  • Guided Study Hall is an intervention program designed to help students complete homework. It is offered during many periods during the day. Thisinstructional aide will assistwith student work completion, basic organizational skills, and homework tracking system. For the program to be successful, students must bring homework to Guided Study and be ready to work and/or ask for assistance. It is a much smaller group than a traditional Study Hall.
  • Referral to Guided Study Hall is through the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process.

Location:Anthony Middle School

Terms Of Employment/Salary:

  • Full time school year position.
  • \$14.50/hr.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
  • Substitute license preferred but not required.

Reports To:

  • Building Principal.
  • Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on evaluation of certified personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the District.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or students group involved.
  • Demonstrates instructional and interpersonal strategies and techniques that are responsive to the cultural, ethnic, economic and linguistic differences of students.
  • Instructs all students from a culturally inclusive perspective and establishes an expectation that classroom language and behaviors value differences.
  • Supports students in their efforts to discover and share their own cultural identities and teaches students the appropriate language for asking questions about the culture of other people.
  • Evaluates student progress on a continuing basis and reports at designated times.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
  • Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for educationally related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
  • Other duties as assigned by administration.
