Summary of Role: As a member of the Fab8 Reliability Engineering Team in Malta, NY, you will work on technology reliability characterization and qualification efforts, including new processes, new materials and/or new structure qualifications. You will be conducting essential reliability tests including HCI/BTI/TDDB/PID etc. for key technology developments. You will be responsible for reliability test structure design, review and verification. You will be responsible for coordinating failure analysis and material characterization work such as SEM/TEM/EDX/SIMS/etc. You will be leading TCAD simulation and reliability model prediction work if needed. In this role, you will work closely with interdisciplinary local and global teams to provide on-time, comprehensive reliability analyses and assessments for various technology qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Priority for this role is to define plans for the reliability characterization and qualification tests for the new/existing technology upgrades, drive the execution of the required experiments from early reliability assessment (ERA) to final qualification, and evaluate and report the results.

  • Performing the required reliability testing and deciding the stress conditions based on technology qualification plan/requirements, including but not limited to HCI/BTI/TDDB/PID etc.

  • Lead and coordinate new test structures/macros design and verification, ensure the implementation is done correctly.

  • Coordination with both the inline WLR test team for the initial setup, and also the reliability lab test team to finish all qualification tests. Make sure seamless execution of all tests and conform to the timeline requirement.

  • Lead and investigate the qualification failures, including EFA and PFA of study on the key failure mechanisms.

  • Supporting our customers with technical inquiries, providing timely responses.

  • Working in a global reliability team to share knowledge about qualification issues/failures and key lessons learnt.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – an M.S. degree or above with focus on semiconductor technologies, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields is required.

  • Experience - Minimum 3+ years in semiconductor technology or related field.

  • Good knowledge of MOSFET reliability failure mechanisms, including HCI/BTI/TDDB/PID etc.

  • Good knowledge of reliability test systems, including both wafer-level and package-level reliability tests.

  • Good knowledge and experience in methods of physical error analysis, including SEM/TEM/EDX/SIMS etc.

  • Experience and application of statistical methods and statistical analysis software.

  • Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.

  • Good IT skills with Office software.

  • Very good presentation skills.

  • Fluency in English language – written & verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - an M.S. or Ph.D. degree with a focus on semiconductor technologies, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields is required.

  • Experience - Minimum 5+ years in semiconductor technology or related field.

  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

Expected Salary Range

$63,500.00 - $142,000.00
