We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our NetSuite Application team in Manila, Philippines focused on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product. NetSuite developers do more than just write code. We become specialists in our business domain, each of us actively bringing questions and ideas to the table.

As part of NetSuite, you’ll not only design software but also collaborate closely with quality engineers, provide mentorship to developers of varying level, and establish code review practices. What you’ll do

• Develop greenfield code for new engines and maintain a powerful legacy codebase

• Design the architecture of database-driven web applications

• Drive and discuss clean software design

• Guide and mentor junior engineers

• Assist in setting code review practices for the team

What you’ll bring

• BS/MS/Phd in Computer Science or equivalent

• 8+ years of software development experience that includes Java or a similarly object-oriented programming language—the NetSuite solution is written in Java with Oracle DB as the main persistence layer, and the UI uses internal JavaScript framework

• An intimate understanding of modern web applications and extensive experience with database-driven applications

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• The ability to abstract functional requirements

• Enthusiasm for automated testing

• An understanding of and/or experience with business software applications and a desire to continue growing this knowledge

• Dedication to quality, clean code, code reviews, and reducing technical debt

• Confidence driving projects and mentoring both senior and junior developers

• Strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts

• The ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment
