Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
In addition to new and used truck sales, we provide full-service leasing, contract maintenance, and daily commercial rentals. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing major engine overhauls, working directly with a Journeyman Technician, and handling minor repairs on a variety of vehicles including tractors, day cabs, utility vehicles, fleet vehicles, trailers, step vans, and construction vehicles.
Responsibilities
Perform major engine overhauls in collaboration with a Journeyman Technician.
Conduct minor repairs such as clutch, transmission, engine repair, and engine tune-ups.
Perform electrical and electronic inspection testing.
Handle trailer repairs.
Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines.
Essential Skills
2 years of mechanic work on diesel engines.
Experience in diesel repair, brake systems, transmission, engine work, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Proficiency in preventive maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude verified through references.
Experience repairing brakes, engines, transmissions, and electric/electronic components.
Experience with fleet vehicles (semis, construction vehicles, diesel trucks) is preferred.
Ownership of personal tools.
Diesel tech Diploma/Certification from a Technical College is advantageous.

Work Environment
Our facility is a newer, full-service shop with a very clean environment. We have roughly 9 technicians in Janesville. The first shift operates from 7am-3:30pm, with limited overtime opportunities. The second shift runs from 3:30pm to midnight, with a $1 shift premium. Pay ranges from $25-35 per hour.
