JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Wisconsin Union is looking for a food service professional to join our Memorial Union retail team. Working in conjunction with the management team, this position is responsible for the overall operations of a popular food and beverage venue that includes the Rathskeller, Stiftskeller, and the Terrace Brat Stand. As an Assistant Manager you will work various shifts to support operations- including open, mid-shifts, closing, and weekends. You will play a key role in ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction at these units. Responsibilities include training and supervising full-time, part-time and student staff, coordinating schedules, overseeing operational needs, and responding effectively to any challenges that arise. Responsibilities: Oversees daily food service operations including staff management and/or customer issue resolution in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals. This individual identifies work unit needs and contributes to the development of unit processes and procedures. 50% Develops, implements and oversees workflow components, and assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff 10% Selects, develops, implements and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations 25% Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities 10% Assists with unit budget monitoring, management of inventory levels, and staff training 5% Monitors adherence to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures, identifies needs and makes recommendations for improvement to leadership Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
