Universal Health Services STAFFING COORDINATOR - TEMP in MADERA, California

Responsibilities

River Vista Behavioral Health sits along the bluffs overlooking the San Joaquin River, this brand new, 128-bed facility, will provide high-quality and advanced behavioral health services to residents and visitors in the Central Valley. The new hospital will employ more than 250 people, including clinicians, nurses, mental health technicians, support staff and administration.

We are currently seeking a forward thinking and compassionate STAFFING COORDINATOR to be part of our Nursing Team. The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordination of all staffing requirements within the nursing department, including scheduling staff, monitoring changes, updating and reporting bi-weekly time reporting to payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : High School Diploma required, two years of college education preferred.

Experience: At least three (1) year experience as a staffing coordinator in a health care setting required. SHIFTHOUND knowledge a big plus!

Additional Requirements: Must be able to type, have experience meeting staffing targets, and thorough knowledge of Word and Excel software programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively plans, organizes and coordinates the nursing staff schedule.

  • Adjusts staffing daily according to census and acuity under the supervision of the CNO.

  • Responsible for providing direction and support for staffing under the supervision of the CNO.

  • Assists CNO in ensuring nursing administrative personnel policies and procedures are followed.

  • Coordinates and processes time off requests for nursing personnel.

  • Completes special assignments/reports in a timely manner.

  • Monitors use of benefit time and reports trends and/or abuses to the CNO.

  • Is accessible and acts as a resource to the Nursing Supervisors on staffing issues.

  • Along with the CNO, monitors productive and non-productive nursing hours to ensure budgetary requirements are met.

  • Reports daily report of non-productive and productive hours to the CNO.

  • Responds to employee inquiries properly and addresses any problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Ability to repetitively move the hands when typing.

  • Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.

  • Good hearing is needed for frequent telephone use.

  • Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks under deadlines and with short notice.

    Additional Requirements :

    A strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
