Edmonds Career Access Program (EdCAP)

SALARY:$54,282.98 - $59,616.45

LOCATION:Lynnwood, WA

DESCRIPTION: 

The Edmonds Career Access Program (EdCAP) is an on-campus youth reengagement program serving young people ages 16-21 who have experienced barriers to success and are at risk of dropping out of high school. This advising/case management position advises students in the selection of coursework, creation of educational and career plans, and development of college success skills. The position is responsible for tracking and managing student progress from intake to completion and through transition to employment and/or post-secondary education.  The person best suited for this position demonstrates strong advocacy and collaboration skills to work effectively as part of a dynamic team of case managers, administrators, and instructors. This work requires dedication, flexibility, teamwork and a passion to serve young people. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Enrollment management/registration

  • Develop and lead information, orientation and advising sessions.
  • Register students for classes, ensuring that their registration is consistent with their residency status, eligibility and needs. 
  • Assist students in navigating other Enrollment Services processes such as dropping and withdrawing from classes and requesting medical withdrawals.

Case Management/Student retention

  • Provide daily, consistent and accessible support to students as they move through the program.
  • Support students who are failing to meet academic standards and need extra support.
  • Support students in crisis.
  • Provide academic advising (High School Diploma, GED and college degrees/certificates) and monitor progress towards graduation.
  • Carry out mandatory reporting functions for Title IX, Child Protective Services, and behavioral intervention reporting.

Program Outreach/Partnership management

Strengthen and maintain relationships with internal and external campus partners to facilitate program coordination, information exchange, and the expansion of partnerships.
