You will install electrical components and wiring for transformers, relay cases and control switches and meters using an array of tools and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions.
- Assemble electrical systems and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or conduit using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
- Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
- Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for operation and record results.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with electrical assembly and wiring. 1-2 years experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blue prints and drawings.
- Must be mechanically / electrically inclined and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to lift 50 + lbs, climb ladders, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to identify potential manufacturing problems, and recommend potential solutions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer competence and the ability to work with common software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
- Training in a technical discipline, trade school or electrical theory education preferred
