Overview

The VP of Data Analytics and Architecture is responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of data analytics / business intelligence (BI) initiatives and enterprise architecture (EA) within the organization. Oversees a data analytics team of data engineers, data visualization developers and data scientists responsible for data acquisition, data modeling, staging, use case development, data visualization and statistical data analytics. Also leads EA and responsible for maturing EA practices. Works closely with business process owners, technical / solutions architects, and technology teams to evaluate and introduce new technology and to create and iteratively implement a sustainable set of technology roadmaps across the enterprise. Provides strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and fiscal oversight. champions innovation and collaboration to position the organization for data-driven transformation.

Responsibilities
    Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement the strategic vision for BI and data insights
  • Coordinate and align priorities with the organization's strategic goals, partnering with business leadership to identify and prioritize data and analytical needs
  • Lead the BI strategy in that combines business analytics and data visualization to make data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop dashboard, analytical models, and reporting systems for actionable insights
  • Establish and maintain data standards across the organization
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies in analytics and BI
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architectural framework that aligns with the business strategy and goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide strategic guidance on technology investments
  • Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to create, maintain, and iteratively implement a sustainable set of technology roadmaps across the enterprise
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and foster a shared understanding of architectural decisions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to inform the company's technology roadmap
  • Works to further business goals through the evaluation, assessment and comparison of emergent technology. This may involve proof of concept work, as well as in-depth vendor engagement
  • Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring EA standards are achieved
  • Provide architectural consulting and guidance for technology project
  • IT champion, maintain key relationships to ensure technology alignment with organizational objectives and promote the value of technology solutions and a data driven organization
  • Lead a team of Data Engineers and Domain Architects responsible for designing, developing, implementing, large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives (projects and process improvement) that carry significant fiscal impact to the company
  • Provide leadership, recruitment, hiring, training, mentorship, and performance management
  • Instill a culture of accountability within the teams ensuring the staff is meeting or exceeding performance, metrics/benchmarks, and standards expectations to provide effective customer service
  • Serve as IT leader responsible for performing architecture and data diligence, planning, and execution of merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities
  • Manage external vendor relationships including selection, budgeting, invoicing, issue escalation and resolution, resource management and relationship building to ensure vendor service delivery meets business needs and performance guarantees
  • Develop and maintain a system recovery plans for responsible systems. Facilitate corrective actions for any system failures and ensure availability
  • Provide input into the development of the IT budget and manage the operational budget, including major purchasing decisions
  • Review for approval, labor, hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other team members as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field of study or equivalent professional experience. Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an executive or senior management role
  • 10+ years IT experience
  • Experience leading in a large public or private company is preferred ($1B or greater)
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business value through data-driven insights and scalable technology solutions
  • Seasoned professional with a deep understanding of analytics, BI, and the ability to deliver actionable data insights
  • Ability to envision the business potential of emerging technologies and products
  • Communicates persuasively and effectively to business and technical audiences
  • Must be an outstanding customer service-oriented leader
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong change management skills
  • Strong time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • 10% travel via car or plane
