Delivery Coordinator
Summary:
In the Delivery Coordinator position, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and maintaining efficient transportation services for the company at our Louisa, KY location. You will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.
Responsibilities:
As assigned- Feedback and evaluations performed on New Hires
Travel when called upon to different shuttle points on KY, WV and Ohio
Research, verify and root cause 30-day to 90-day and 180-day driver retention
Follow Schedule of New Hire follow-up
Assist in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures
Organize, Document and Present Driver Observations
Schedule Ride along
Continuous Driver Training (Pre-trip Beginning Day, Pods, new software, etc.)
Metric focus (Driver Shorts and Damages)
Delivery Profile/Special Instructions
Weekend responsibilities when called upon
Travel to Shuttle Points to evaluate personnel
Be involved in Accident Investigations
Perform Gate to Gate ride alongs. Minimum 4 days a week
Support route delivery/shuttling when called upon
Backfill Transportation Management when absent in Louisa
Support all areas of Transportation when called upon
Daily communication to entire Organization
Must have a good attitude (Keep Morale positive)
Must have good vocal skills.
Work with Senior drivers for feedback on new hires and driver training program trainees
Education and Experience:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Possess a CDL Class-A License for interstate commerce, with a doubles endorsement.
Three (3) years driving experience and/or driving school experience (foodservice delivery experience preferred).
Experience directly supervising people, desired but not a requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must know, adhere to, and enforce Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards.
Ability to use a computer, smartphone, business software, and new applications/proprietary software.
Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
Ability to operate a pallet jack, electric walkie, and/or forklift.
Ability to use a dolly or hand truck in heavy lifting and shifting loads on wet, dry, icy, bumpy, or uneven terrain with frequent curbs and obstructions.
Be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate basic math skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with multiple levels of organization.
