Description

Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Project Scientist, the Laboratory Assistant will generate and maintain a database of blood-based samples from patients with multiple neurodegenerative diseases obtained from various clinics and biobanks. The Laboratory Assistant will also be responsible for isolating brain-derived exosomes from the blood-based samples.

Please note that this is a part-time,12 month limited position and may

convert to career.

Salary Range: $19.90 - $23.04/Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to obtain exosomes from blood serum samples.

• Ability to immunoprecipitate brain-derived exosomes.

• Ability to create and maintain a large database.

• Ability to accurately prepare solutions.

• Ability to tabulate results accurately and present them verbally in a comprehensive presentation to the principal investigator

• Macintosh skills and experience with Microsoft Office software, RedCAP and GraphPad programs.

• Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment, supplies, and animals to maintain inventory and stock.

• Experience with neurologic diseases.

• Excellent verbal and written English skills.

Preferred:

• B.S. or B.A. in biological/biochemical science.
