A Day in the Life:
The Director Human Resources is responsible for driving and supporting human capital strategy and high-value HR processes through all locations their respective region.
Provide direct coordination and access to the HR COE Leadership Team and service areas. Responsible for providing effective employee relations service employees by utilizing excellent problem solving and relationship skills, an in-depth knowledge of human resources generalist issues as well as policies and procedures, operational leadership and knowledge of company products and services.
In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for client group leaders, developing and executing HR strategy in support of the client’s business objectives, and is a connected partner for business leaders. You will provide expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational design.

The salary range for this position is starting at $125,000.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with SVPs/VPs to operationalize HR objectives to align to company goals
Employee Relations – Provide HR consulting expertise to all levels of management and employees. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of issues and resolve through a systematic and analytical approach, including investigations
Work with local company Labor Relations team in preparation for negotiations, preparation of Bargaining Authority documents and driving union avoidance and prevention efforts. Provide support and assistance to the Labor Relations team in coordinating and implementing the company wide labor relations strategy
Leadership in collective bargaining, grievances, and arbitration if applicable
Aligning global business strategies to HR strategies and initiatives, diagnosing business challenges, exploring alternative solutions and recommending best-fit solutions
Management of succession planning below RVP levels. Partner with Talent Management COE in managing proper succession and high potential planning in line with the defined strategy and needs of the business
Partner with HR team to ensure high quality implementation of critical HR operating rhythms such as Hertz Organization & Talent Reviews, compensation planning and performance management, leveraging assistance as appropriate.
Play a leadership role in coaching and mentoring the region HR team to ensure that agreed levels of effective service are delivered
Partner with the talent development and management team to ensure continual performance improvement, driving processes to facilitate improvement
Identify and recommend training & development needs and work with L&D team to identify and implement solutions
Partner with Operations on safety and worker’s compensation management
Ensure consistent discipline practices and legal compliance – Guide train and direct Business Partners on the execution of HR policies and processes to ensure appropriate legal and corporate compliance
Partner with Operations and HR Answers regarding compliance with DOT regulations
Identify compensation issues and recommend solutions
Ensure compliance with all Company policy’s and ensure a consistent practice across the region
Identify problems central to business strategy and forecast potential obstacles to success
Providing HR leadership to a team that supports employees in both, union and nonunion environments
What We’re Looking For:
8 years’ experience in Human Resources
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or equivalent experience
PHR / SPHR Certification preferred
Cross-functional HR knowledge, including working knowledge of labor and employment laws
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
Ability to influence
Flexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
