UCLA Health Community Resource Coordinator in Los Angeles, California

Description

The UCLA Training, Intervention, Education, and Services (TIES) for Families program is seeking to hire a part-time Community Resource Coordinator. The TIES for Families program is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to optimizing the growth and development of foster/adoptive children from birth to age 26, and their families. You will provide a variety of support to the program staff and clients. Primary duties include:

  • Provide referrals and linkages to appropriate community resources and services including recreation, health, and wellbeing resources.

  • Participate in community outreach, team, and community meetings and trainings

  • Assess resource needs of individuals and families

  • Facilitate client development by linking clients and family members to greater services, resources, and supports

  • Assist in data collection and research

  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining an internal program repository of community resources and programs.

Please note this is a limited position that may convert to career.Qualifications

Knowledgeable about navigating multiple systems including but not limited to schools/school districts, Regional Center, Department of Children and Family Services, Probation Department and the Department of Health Services (preferred)

Experience working with public or community groups

Knowledge about providing client advocacy and liaison with community agencies

Professional or lived experience working with families involved in child welfare (preferred)

Skill in formatting and writing grammatically correct chart notes, memos, letters, and reports

High energy, friendly, organized, and detail-oriented

Professional, resourceful, tactful style with the ability to respond immediately and appropriately in different contexts

Discretionary skills to handle confidential/sensitive material.

Skill in establishing priorities that accurately reflect relative importance of job duties.
