Job Description

A distinguished University in Los Angeles is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud team. This position plays a critical role in the organization, being responsible for transforming existing IT infrastructure into a scalable, efficient, cloud-based architecture. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, have an in-depth knowledge of cloud computing strategies, and have strong server, networking, identity and information security experience. Their day to day will include managing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure in AWS, deploying code using automation, and helping with the modernization of their AWS implementation. The group has already implemented AWS and is fairly mature, however they are fixing and cleaning up some of it and leaning on an outsourced managed service team with a project manager and some engineers that will provide the framework for their implementation. This individual will be working with them to execute on this project. They will also be supporting security in AWS and working hand in hand with the server team (Windows and LINUX servers) to deploy code into AWS using code tools such as lambdas. This person will work with the enterprise application group too. While they are not primarily responsible for cost estimation, they should generally understand costs and how to optimize cost efficiency later on in the project.

Pay rate range: $65-$75

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years of cloud engineering experience (AWS)

-Proficiency with CI/CD and Gitlab/Github tools

-Familiarity with a Windows/Linux server environment

-Ability to code in Python and Node.js (enough to deploy code within AWS but not expert proficiency)

-Exposure to cloud computing security and basic networking principles -Higher education environment or public sector/non profit experience

-Excellent customer service experience null
