UCLA Health Clinical Research Coordinator Assistant - Ophthalmology in Los Angeles, California
Description
Act as a floating Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate the daily aspects of multiple ophthalmic clinical trials, as assigned. Ensure recruitment goals are met and liaison with study sponsors
Prepare documents for submission to the Office for Protection of Research Subjects
Create, organize, and maintain files, records and reports on all research subjects. Maintain Investigator Binder for each study. Maintain data bases as assigned
Establish rapport with research subjects. Provide information to assist both patients and their families with decisions on whether or not to participate in clinical research trials
Read and discuss informed consent form to research subject and their families, as assigned
Assist in administering preliminary exams such as taking history, checking vision, and drawing blood
Enter data into the electronic medical record or on paper case report forms as dictated by each study and per office protocol
Process payments to patients who are enrolled in protocols that have a financial incentive for participation
Assist faculty and staff with obtaining proper data at the time of patient visits, as required for study source documentation
Assist faculty with grant development and submission
Communicate with clinic staff to ensure study subjects are properly encountered into CareConnect
Salary Range: $ 26.29 - 42.28
Qualifications
Required:
Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills including knowledge of medical terminology in order to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, faculty, private/federal agencies, and with patients
Demonstrate writing and editing skills to complete lay language and technical documents and correspondence by given deadlines
Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the internet
Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction; demonstrate the ability to prioritize and perform a variety of tasks that need to be carried out simultaneously with frequent interruptions
Demonstrate the ability to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and to work under the pressure of a busy workload
Preferred:
The following are preferred Phlebotomy training, BCVA certification
The following are preferred: Strong background in the medical field, BS degree in science; knowledge of UCLA's hospital information system
