The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage thermal power assets with a focus on safety and helping to develop Equinor’s current and new thermal power portfolio and value chains.

  • Guide a cross-functional project team accountable for business build activities with the opportunity to take part in building commercial carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) business and carbon neutral value chains.

  • Manage technical, commercial, and political interfaces within power, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), hydrogen production, utilisation, transport and storage projects.

  • Be responsible for managing UK power thermal plant projects during pre-FEED, FEED, EPC, Commissioning and/or operating phases.

  • Work with conversion technologies (P2X) and turbines, specifically combined cycle gas turbines (CCGTs) and open cycle gas turbines (OCGTs).

  • Take part in establishing joint venture agreements, systems of governance and partner relationships relating to thermal power project development.

  • Sanction and follow-up of projects, including business development.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in technology, engineering, science, economics, business administration, or similar with demonstrable experience in high value energy or infrastructure projects.

  • Significant project management experience of large capital infrastructure projects; ideally through the design, development, and consenting phases.

  • Asset management experience of gas to power assets in the UK (ideally including involvement in decarbonisation planning). As well as Supporting low carbon and renewable projects.

  • Experience of thermal power plant asset ownership, partner-operated asset management and/or owners engineering.

  • Building and managing relationships with key project and supply chain partners, with a focus on the gas turbine original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

  • Experience in securing contracts, consents, permits and connections required for internal governance approvals up to and including final investment decision (FID) for projects in thermal projects in the UK.

  • Ideally have knowledge or experience of UK electricity markets and regulatory standards and have good knowledge or experience of UK thermal power commercial trading.

  • Good knowledge or experience of UK Government business model support mechanisms for Power CCS, Hydrogen Production, Transport & Storage, and Hydrogen to Power.
