Citigroup Financial Market Infrastructure Business Development, AVP in London, United Kingdom

The Financial Market Infrastructure Business Development team is part of the Client - Business Development organization responsible for driving core disciplines of investments, digital assets and strategic partnerships to deliver client solutions, create new business opportunities and impact the direction of market structure and growth.

The newly formed Financial Market Infrastructure Business Development (FMI BD) team will be responsible for establishing the FMI business development discipline bringing enterprise wide, horizontal routines to FMIs with an aim to better address the FMI as a client needs while delivering higher returns.

The AVP will focus on support efforts to establish the market structure program and advocacy to impact direction of infrastructure growth, enabling identification of mutual areas to develop forward looking partnerships and business development opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the team in exploring and establishing the financial market infrastructure program and new business development opportunities

  • Support the team in originating and executing new partnership opportunities, often in emerging business models

  • Support the team with regards to the management of external relationships with FMI’s and industry partners

  • Support the team in creating and implementing a framework for a firm-wide view of financial infrastructure and priorities for Citi

  • Collaborate effectively with business partners throughout product areas and assist with the execution of priorities

  • Provide internal support toward advocacy for regulatory and governance in the (FMI) industry representing Citi’s interest

  • Provide analytical support around data trends and insights

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience within banking or financial services organizations

  • Exposure to financial market infrastructures (Broker Dealers/Clearing Houses/ Exchanges) a plus

  • Exposure to Markets, Payments, Custody and or Banking (CB /IB)

  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to operationalize the strategy

  • Experience with client coverage

  • Highly motivated, self-starter

  • Ability to lead initiatives across the franchise and different stakeholders

  • Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail

  • Strong project management and business analysis skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively produce documentation

  • Shows initiative in performing research, obtaining data, and conducting analyses

  • Developing ability to lead and demonstrate presence through influence without formal authority

Education

  • Bachelor/ University Degree/ Masters Degree
