As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you'll play a vital role in our finance department, contributing to strategic decision-making and driving business growth.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting business growth: Partnering with senior leaders to develop plans, track performance, and course correct as needed.

  • Generating insights: Use financial analysis to gain insights into our customers and make actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

  • Strategic planning: Build long-term forecasts for new products and initiatives, helping to prioritise items on the strategic roadmap.

  • Supporting resource allocation: Analyse performance, facilitate honest evaluations of return on investment, and optimise capital allocation.

  • Understanding business fundamentals: Perform analysis to deepen understanding of the business' unit economics to support commercial decision making.

  • Identify business critical issues: Ensure that risks and opportunities are identified quickly and escalated to ensure that management attention is focussed appropriately.

  • Leveraging our data: Partner with BI teams to ensure our management documents and dashboards use meaningful financial metrics and KPIs to give a clear view of business performance.

  • Support strategic projects: Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario modelling for key business stakeholders.

  • Developing the finance team: Share knowledge, learnings, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Great at financial modelling: You can consistently create high-quality, accurate models that help forecast and track business performance.

  • Effective communicator: You can explain complex financial info and other key performance indicators to senior stakeholders in a clear and simple way.

  • Relationship builder: You have strong partnering skills and can influence senior stakeholders. You can build and maintain effective cross functional relationships.

  • Highly resilient: Energetic and entrepreneurial, you can juggle multiple tasks and priorities without getting overwhelmed.

  • Strategic understanding: You get business strategy and can clearly explain the important financial messages that underpin it.

  • Comfortable with uncertainty: You can handle ambiguity and simplify complex problems.

  • Industry experience: Experience of a multi-national customer and technology-focused business would be beneficial

  • Finance function exposure: You have experience of working in a finance function.

  • Passionate about what you do: You're enthusiastic about the Mukuru mission and its impact in Africa and around the world.

  • Qualified accountant: CIMA or ACA preferred (but not essential).
