Cache County Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist to join our Development Services team! The GIS Specialist will perform various complex technical duties related to developing or creating digitized maps through a geographic information system using ArcGIS or related ESRI computer program applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates and coordinates in the development and editing of the County's GIS database, posting changes, verifying the quality of the database, etc.

Assists in maintaining various data/GIS layers within the system; ensures the system's accuracy by verifying changes; utilizes ArcGIS software programs to update the system effectively; ensures linked elements of the database retain proper integrity and accuracy.

Participates in project management; receives project assignments from department head and/or division supervisor and as requested by various county departments or the public; evaluates project timelines and assists in establishing operational tasks; analyzes various tasks to determine opportunities to automate or combine steps and processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Geography, Planning, Computer Science, or a related field; AND One (1) year of applicable experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

The position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to drive for the County. Must not have any  DUI/ARR within the past 5 years and less than 2 moving violations within the past 24 months.
