Board of Hocking County Commissioners Grant Coordinator in Logan, Ohio

JOB TITLE: Grant Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Board of Hocking County Commissioners CLASSIFICATION: Full-time (40 hours/week) unclassified position

FUNDING STATEMENT: This position is partially grant-funded. Employment with Hocking County may expire or reduce if continued grant funding is not awarded annually.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years grant writing experience for a public entity or non-profit organization.

Demonstrated success in obtaining grant driven funding and proven ability to research grant prospects for proposal writing is also required.

  • The successful applicant will be able to work independently and manage grant calendar and deadlines.

Excellent communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous attention to detail.

Holds or will work toward securing at least one state and/or national grant writing certification(s).

JOB SUMMARY:

The Grant Coordinator/Manager is responsible for researching and analyzing grant opportunities and making recommendations on their feasibility. Responsible for the preparation of grant/program applications including: writing, budgeting and contract management in collaboration with appropriate county staff and other partners. The Grant Coordinator/Manager represents Hocking County in the community acting as a liaison with collaborating agencies. This position is generally the first point of contact for grantees and the public, providing information on the grant proposal process.

RESPONSIBILMES:

Reporting to the Board of Hocking County Commissioners, the Grant Coordinator/Manager supports the county and enters public service by providing grant writing, research, data collection and financial reporting for existing and new programs to ensure program evaluation and sustainability. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Researches and identifies grant funding opportunities to develop new and sustain existing programs. Monitors professional journals, follows media, and attends relevant workshops and conferences to stay abreast of best practices in program fields for development purposes.

Develops and writes large, high-quality federal, state, local and foundation grant applications and renewals; guides the timely submission of grant proposals

ensuring adherence to application guidelines, working with programs, and the Auditor's Office to pay programmatic invoices, setup grant funds and associated appropriations.

  • Successfully work with department heads and elected officials with varying

personalities to implement grant deliverables that are consistent with defined scope and budgets.

  • Serve as point of contact for inquiries about grant eligibility and the grant process
  • Maintains records electronically and in paper files, including final submission

packets, grant tracking and reporting

Maintains and implements funding calendar activities

  • Maintains confidential information in a sensitive and appropriate manner and fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
