The Opportunity:

Zeal Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources. This role will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations and talent development. This role is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. This role provides leadership and oversight to the HR and Training teams.

As a Vice President of Human Resources, you will:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term goals and objectives; identify ways to support goals through talent management. Make staffing recommendations or changes to support those objectives. Translate organizations workforce strategy into HR and Training operational business plans.
  • Identify key performance indicators for the organizations human resource and talent management functions; assess the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Oversee the formulation and implementation of top-tier training programs designed to ensure employee success and long-term development focused on employee success and organizational succession plans.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the human resources team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues. Approve recommendations for termination.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the training team; assist with resolution of individual, position, department, or organization training needs, questions, concerns, or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, annual regulatory training, and other laws, regulations and requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. Acts as primary liaison with labor counsel and outside government agencies. Handles employee complaints.
  • Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for human resource and training department.
  • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-8 years of similar or related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining processes, contract negotiations, labor and management relationships; knowledge of procedures used to investigate and resolve grievances

Preferred

  • Master's Degree
  • HR Certification, SHRM or similar
