At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we're at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions for Electronic Warfare (EW) programs. Using the electromagnetic spectrum—signals such as radio, infrared, or radar— to sense, protect, and communicate. At the same time, EW can disrupt, deny and degrade the adversaries' ability to use these signals.

THE WORK

Lockheed Martin Corporation's Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business is in search of an early career AI/ML Engineer to join our team.

As a member of the team, you can help us take on the world’s most important and complex challenges by providing solutions to a variety of technical problems.

In this role the you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals and customers.

- Translate requirements and apply to developing, implementing and deploying autonomy and artificial intelligence algorithms for products and platforms.

- Implement algorithms to train systems to recognize patterns and perform specific functions.

- Develop, test, troubleshoot and maintain autonomy software.

- Develop human-machine interface scenarios, breaking missions into tasks

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college, with 2 years of professional experience, no experience required with a Masters degree, or equivalent experience/combined education.

•Programming experience using C, C++, CUDA, Python, or XML

• Strong Software design and programming skills.

• Experience with real-time signal processing domains such as Electronic Warfare or Radar sensors/systems.

Desired Skills:

• Experience working in sensor labs with hardware in the loop.

• Experience with data engineering practices, including automated collation, cleaning, and labeling of data.

• Demonstrated experience working on small teams, including interfacing with external partners, and customers.

• Open Source tools: AI/ML Python Libraries such as ONNX and/or LibTorch, Tensor RT, Tensor Flow, Linux, JIRA (agile planning/execution, problem reports), GIT, Kubernetes

• Leadership skills with small teams of data scientist engineers.

• Conventional leadership skills such as tasking/scheduling and budget estimates are a plus.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $82,700 - $158,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $95,100 - $179,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
