What We Are Looking For We are seeking a dynamic engineering professional who has proven success defining complex design-of-experiments test plans, setting success criteria for technical projects, and self-managing their own timelines, budgets etc. for their technical projects. The focus of this role will be to support medical, industrial and aerospace manufacturing development including developing scalable additive manufacturing capabilities for the 3D Systems team in Littleton, Colorado. The Intermediate Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical development and implementation of manufacturing processes. This role will be an integral part of a cross-functional team working to achieve site, project, and program goals. What You Will Do * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including, application engineering, coordination, production, and procurement to identify, develop, and implement, procedures, work instructions, and controls to assure compliance to applicable governing regulatory requirements and standards. * Provide input, review and approve product and process validation activities. * Verification and Validation (V&V) – Write and execute V&V test protocols and final reports. * Work with suppliers to scope and purchase new equipment. Establish and execute new equipment installation qualification requirements. * Select (or design, if necessary) appropriate manufacturing methods. Participate in customer meetings as necessary to gain approval of new designs and agree on required testing. * Develop process control documentation and procedures; ensuring processes are controlled and repeatable. * Implement new operational solutions, including preparing visual work instructions, executing Change Orders to update internal procedures and instructions, and subsequent training of internal personnel as necessary. * Communicate final technical reports to both internal and external customers to gain required approvals. * Applied understanding of applicable quality management requirements and practices; ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, AS9100, NADCAP, etc. * Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards for export controls and handling of government contracts (e.g. ITAR, EAR, etc.). * Report progress and status of individual projects on a timely basis, ensuring on-time execution within scope and budget. What You Will Bring * Bachelor’s degree in applicable Engineering discipline * Intermediate level experience supporting manufacturing operations, preferably in the medical, industrial, or aerospace industries under FDA/ISO 13485 or AS9100 design controls. Candidates should be comfortable working in the methodical, structured, and well-documented manner expected in a highly regulated industry. * Solid understanding and background in core manufacturing engineering fundamentals, such as process development, light design work, data analysis, statistics, testing/inspection, supplier interaction, structured problem-solving tools, change control, and process validation. * Experience conducting and reporting V&V activities. * Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills. * Experience with CNC machining a plus. * Experience with additive manufacturing in a production environment a plus. * Experience with DMP and other additive manufacturing methods a plus. * Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time. * This position’s role includes the need to review technical information from aerospace and defense customers. The Good Stuff! * Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data. * In addition to a salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based upon company performance. * 3D Systems offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage, company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, and company-paid basic life insurance.
