POSITION TITLE: LOCKSMITH

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Five years experience as locksmith

  • Experience with safe combinations

  • 2 years’ experience with network based access control systems components and technology

  • Two years’ experience with mobile technology and basic office technology (office software, email, etc)

  • Experience in minor building systems maintenance

  • Locksmith certification

  • Valid Arkansas driver's license

REPORTS TO: Director of School Maintenance Services

JOB GOAL: To replace and repair all types of locks, doors, jams, steel and wood.

Service and maintain district access control systems. Perform building

maintenance.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain master key system and keep records on all building master keys.

  2. Implement and maintain district unified keying system.

  3. Maintain up to date knowledge on access control systems. Coordinate and assist in district wide implementation of system.

  4. Coordinate and assist with contract services for door and hardware replacements in remodels and new construction.

  5. Build door jams for all wood door units.

  6. Service and maintain all freezer doors, locks, and handles in District.

  7. Provide in-service training for all maintenance custodians on doors and jams (wood and steel), all types of locks, hinges, door closures, panic hardware and access control systems.

  8. Assist all departments that have door or lock problems.

  9. Perform some heavy lifting.

  10. Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.

  11. Perform work in extreme weather conditions.

  12. Respond to after hour emergencies.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary Range: Range 11 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($15.84/hr. - $29.03/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract:: 244 contract days

FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

Personnel Status: Classified

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
