Robert Half Legal Assistant in Little Rock, Arkansas
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Legal Assistant in Little Rock, Arkansas. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing estate planning procedures, assisting with litigation processes, and maintaining meticulous client records. This position is within the legal industry where you will be expected to draft and prepare legal documents, manage calendars, and facilitate effective client relations.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate all aspects of the litigation process, including compiling exhibits, preparing witnesses, and reviewing investigative records as required
• Draft and organize estate planning documents and aid clients in funding their trusts
• Compile and organize information, files, and data for estate planning, including existing estate plans and assets, for attorney review
• Draft legal documents such as wills, codicils, trust agreements, and amendments
• Prepare and manage a calendar system, ensuring all deadlines and appointments are met
• Process and coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, both certified and other
• Prepare client folders with necessary documents prior to meetings with attorneys or paralegals
• Maintain a well-organized physical and electronic filing system for critical client documents, including wills and corporate black books
• Compile executed documents into professionally organized binders with electronic copies for clients
• Adhere to proper procedures for opening and closing both physical and electronic files
• Communicate with clients to gather relevant information via phone, email, or in person
• Assist team members with tasks such as legal research, drafting documents, client communications, and e-filing documents, ensuring the smooth flow of office operations. Requirements • Proficiency in Aderant software for efficient legal operations
• Skilled in using Adobe Acrobat for document management
• Experience with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
• Familiarity with Case Management Software for tracking legal cases
• Knowledge of CompuLaw for effective legal calendaring and matter management
• Ability to perform billing functions accurately and efficiently
• Expertise in briefing to ensure effective communication of case details
• Capable of managing calendars for scheduling and reminders
• Proven track record in client relations, demonstrating excellent customer service
• Knowledge of consumer electronics for efficient office operations and digital work
