R10045565 Cylinder Filler - Backup Driver (Class A) (Open) Location: Lima, OH - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Cylinder Filler will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical and high pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. Based on need, this role will also provide back-up to our deliveries of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided tractor trailer, straight, or box truck. Handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders Manage paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards Assist loading/unloading cylinders on / off pallets and on /off tractor trailers Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling: Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards. Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves. Accurately labels cylinders. Completes quality control sheets as required. Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases. Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Maintain neat, clean and orderly plant appearance. Additional Responsibilities: Safely load, deliver and unload hard goods orders, compressed gas and/or liquid cylinders for delivery to customers. Performs pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensures all safety items are in good working order. __Are you a MATCH? HS Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have one (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions; OR two (2) at- fault accident in the last 3 years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years. In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years. Must be at least 21 years or older HAZMAT endorsement (or ability to obtain Hazmat). Prior experience in the gas, welding and safety supply industry preferred. 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing operation, filling or loading experience preferred. Strong background in gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred. Customer service experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Strong level of attention to detail. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.
