Job Description

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a federally-funded research and development center chartered to develop advanced technology in support of national security. Research and development activities focus on long-term technology development as well as rapid system prototyping and demonstration. These efforts are aligned within key mission areas, including air and missile defense; space control; homeland protection and tactical systems; biological-chemical defense; cyber security; information sciences and technology; communication systems; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and technology; and advanced electronics technology. The Laboratory works with government and industry to transition new concepts, technology and prototypes into future system development and deployment.

The objective of the Mission Assurance Office is to partner with program teams, Divisions, Groups, and Departments to collaboratively achieve mission success.

The successful candidate will work within the Mission Assurance Office as the subject matter expert for software architectures, algorithms, and data analysis. The potential candidate will lead internal efforts to improve the use of data to improve mission success and program execution. The candidate will also support critical Laboratory programs by leveraging advanced data analysis techniques, machine learning, software architecture, and algorithm skills to enable success. This role also partners with the Software Mission Assurance Lead to ensure that program critical software architectures and algorithms are executed correctly to enable mission success for programs across the Laboratory.

Requirements

  • PhD in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar area or a Master's Degree with 10 years experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering, computer science, data analysis, and algorithm development

  • Experience with AI Software Architectures and Algorithms

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

  • U.S. citizenship
