Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for our Facilities Manager role supporting our Dixie Products Operations Plant located in Lexington, KY. This supervisory role will have responsibility for the planning and execution of all maintenance activities that support the manufacturing operation in the building and auxiliary equipment areas. This position will present opportunities to interact and collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure the facility is running effectively and efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Providing supervisory leadership in the achievement of improved performance in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, organizational effectiveness, cost management and asset utilization in the packaging and converting operations area
  • Responding to urgent maintenance calls, supporting a 24/7/365 production operation
  • Manage building and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate maintenance of equipment and consult with maintenance staff to determine future requirements
  • Plan scope of work and manage local contractors and vendors including the following but not limited to: roads, grounds, railroad, roofing, roof fans, drains, siding, trenches, painting, catwalks, asphalt, concrete repairs, pipe bridges, as well as cranes/hoists; and support systems such as chillers, air compressors, air dryers, HVACs, etc.
  • Coordinate with production managers and supervisors to establish priorities of equipment maintenance while scheduling workload to satisfy production requirements
  • Coordinate with production managers and supervisors to issue "Save-my-Life (SML) permits and supporting permits to the contractors as needed
  • Coordinate resources with Maintenance Supervisors and Planners for multi-discipline resources to interact/support the contractors as needed
  • Coordinates with Planners, Procurement and Supervisors to obtain the correct parts, equipment and services for maintenance and repair of facility equipment
  • Document processes and keep accurate maintenance records utilizing SAP system including any OSHA or other governing body regulatory inspections
  • Complete reports and records and perform other administrative duties as required
  • Support 5S, SQF, and critical hazard risk reduction

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in the maintenance field with an emphasis on facilities maintenance (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural)
  • Supervisory experience and/or experience managing contractors
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
  • Direct maintenance experience working on large facility equipment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience identifying, selecting, and overseeing specialty contractors in various functional areas
  • Experience in facility coordination, project management and/or real estate
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning and schedules
  • Knowledge and/or experience of building safety regulations and security protocols
