Job Description Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for being a hands-on manager leading a growing Team of ACAD drafters in the Georgia market. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing and modifying customer submittal drawings per specifications and customer requirements; developing production or manufacturing shop drawings from approved submittals; organizing/maintaining the plant product catalog drawings and standards; and supporting the digital library for the company website. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the Plant Engineer/Engineering Manager, Sales and Project Management Teams, as well as the Quality Control Team to ensure the approved submittals can be produced per current plant tooling and forming and conform to established scope(s) of work on purchase order. Other duties will include, but are not limited to:

Checking work for conformance to plans and specifications of in-house and/or outside ACAD drafters
Ensuring timely and accurate submittals as agreed upon by Project Team
Creating 3D models from samples and/or from 2D drawings for clarity of deliverable
Using 3D models to establish center of gravity for safe handling of product
Create special manufacturing drawings for immediate production
Creating sales drawings for purpose of establishing material quantities for bidding/quoting
Prepare and modify catalog drawings from existing and new products
Maintain accurate drawing books for plant production and Quality Control
Prepare product assembly or shop drawings for existing/new products as needed for sales staff and special drawings for plant projects as needed
Work with Quality Control Inspector to learn requirements of process control, inspection, and testing in production
Update/maintain workflow documents such as Smartsheet for Project status visibility
Organization of digital database, i.e. Autodesk Vault or similar, for drawing files and engineering documents
Other duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements/Skills

3 years of relevant experience with AutoCAD 19 or higher version
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must possess the ability to read and interpret sketches
Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications
Ability to read construction and civil plans
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Tools/Applications
Working knowledge of geometry and basic mathematical skills
Self-starter, motivated with ability to start and finish a project on time
Ability to multi task and handle several projects at once with minimum help or guidelines from others
Good communication skills and ability to motive others to perform
Must be highly detail oriented, organized, with a focus on structure


Preferences

Associate degree
Autodesk Inventor experience
Experience in construction and/or structural design
Understanding of reinforced concrete fundamentals
Experience in manufacturing and operation processes
