Job Title: RN

Departments: Psych Adolescent D3, Chemical Dependency D4, Adult Psych C4,

Reports To: Dept. Manager or Director

FLSA Status: Non-exempt/hourly

Summary

The RN is an essential member of the Patient Care Team responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. The RN delegates those interventions that can be performed by others, supervises as appropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, provides education to patients, and family.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic Dysrhythmia, IV insertion/ care, wound care, PICC lines, and foley care may be some of the skills required in an inpatient behavioral unit.

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained before completion of

    orientation.

  • Responsible, supportive team player.

  • Ability to work well in high-stress situations.

    Education and Experience

  • Current Maine RN license required.

  • Basic Life Support certification required.

  • Graduate of an approved Nursing program required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
