The Line Development Manager (LDM) is responsible for managing the product development process for their product line from the initial outline of product concepts through the actual receipt of finished garments. The development process involves in-person collaboration beginning with the concept stage where the LDM provides information to the brand and design teams on the feasibility of product construction and cost goals along with communicating the ability of our vendor resources. This process includes managing costing and proto samples, while executing the entire sample process to ensure adherence to the Time & Action Calendar. After samples are reviewed and adopted into the line, the LDM is accountable for the processes and steps needed to deliver correct and accurate sales samples, and to drive the products in the line to the production approval stage.

Throughevery stage ofthe process,the LDM leads the development process through strong partnerships that include working and communicating with teams involved in the development process including design, brand, QA, international offices and vendors, as well as senior management. A successful development process insures delivery ofa final product linethat is designed, sourced and built to maximize quality and value for our company and our customers.

The LDM is also responsible for validating the performance of manufacturing resources to insure the continuance of a \"best value\" status for each product in their line. The LDM supports product inventory management to managing vendor compliance, product quality standards, production service levels and on time performance.

This position works a hybrid schedule in Lenexa, KS location.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns the line development process by managing the working relationship and communications with all involved teams. The in-person collaboration includes design, brand, QA, international offices, and vendors in order to insure the development and delivery ofa profitable final product line.
  • Responsible for assuring on time production of new and inline product for compliance, quality, value.
  • Guides Design, Brand and Supply Chain Teams with well framed, concise information that provides direction and solutions to product development.
  • Collaborates with Sr. Line Development Manager for Where-Make recommendation, based on expert knowledge of regional capabilities and strengths.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to effectively develop and execute MTO/SMU programs. Interfacing with traditional development teams along with creative art, graphic art and more frequent interaction required with the factories and international offices.
  • Responsible for enforcing Time and Action Calendar dates.
  • Responsible for enforcing CSR and Code of Conduct policies with vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent years of experience working in a supply chain environment
  • Six years of experience in Global Product Development / Apparel Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Apparel / Textile manufacturing, Trade Regulations, Production cycle timelines and Apparel Costing
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel
