Position Overview:

The Beverage Maker Program Chief team is accountable for all Engineering program related activities for the Beverage Maker Engineering organization. This team member is accountable for Engineering related lifecycle support coordination, escalation and prioritization such as production support, field support, and MRO support. The Beverage Maker Program Chief acts as the primary Engineering focal for the Value Stream / Business, customers, and suppliers. They are responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of the value stream, overseeing all technical, schedule, and financial aspects. They are required to align with the Product Engineering Team to assure all programs are properly resourced and provide guidance to team to be sure proper engineering depth and strength across the portfolio is in place. They will work with the Value Stream IPT to support the OEM, airline, and internal stakeholders through the successful execution of committed projects, transparent communications, and world class customer service. Strong communication is critical with the ability to interface with Executive Managers, Program Managers and Operations Managers across all business areas within Collins Aerospace.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to Sr. Program Chief.

  • Directs Beverage Maker value stream related communication, prioritization, escalation for Galley Inserts product lines.

  • Responsible for advancing the Beverage Maker Product Owner Engineering team’s adoption and knowledge of the Collins Management System style of project management.

  • Ensures utilization and progression of development plans throughout the phase gate process.

  • Ensures clearly defined program requirements.

  • Directs Engineering Leads to effectively track and reports program performance metrics across all ranges of Engineering activities.

  • Responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, and technical performance/deliverables for all Beverage Maker related activities.

  • Accountable to track Beverage Maker Engineering capacity planning across all projects and other support categories.

  • Provides managerial review and control over multiple disciplines of engineering efforts, including development of products and technology development.

  • Coordinate resources with the Product Owner team.

  • Works with Engineering leadership to develop and manage department budgets.

  • Participate and lead in customer facing meetings, supplier meetings, and executive report out meetings.

  • Participates in Collins product safety board.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Engineering leadership experience.

  • MBA or equivalent.

  • Advanced Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in design, mechanical, electro-mechanical, heat transfer, thermal, and thermodynamic systems for commercial aircraft products including but not limited to beverage makers, ovens, refrigeration, and trash compaction is a plus.

  • Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.

  • Familiarity with FAA requirements a plus.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
