Position summary

The BioProduction Group (BPG) offers biopharmaceutical customers a complete range of products including single-use technologies, analytical instruments, cell culture media, centrifugation, purification, and analytics.

Within BPG, the Purification and Pharma Analytics business, there is an offering of chromatography media providing down-stream processing solutions for novel biotherapeutics, like viral vectors, mRNA and new antibody formats. The products range from affinity capture using the CaptureSelect ligand technology to ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction and mixed mode chromatography for polish in the purification process of these novel biotherapeutics.

As a scientist in the Chromatography Application Team, you will work in the field of purification of new biotherapeutics to generate application data with the ThermoFisher purification resin portfolio to support our customers and provide compelling data for the marketing team. Besides chromatography, analytical assays will be performed on critical quality attributes, like residual host cell protein and DNA assays, viral clearance studies, ELISA and protein assays. In this team you will be working along-side colleagues and employ and develop this variety of techniques.

What will you do?

  • Plan and conduct experiments, analyze, and interpret the results.

  • Proactively communicate with supervisor and peers as needed to ensure optimal work environment

  • Discuss and share the results of research with colleagues through presentations or discussions at team meetings

  • Prepare and present experimental data summaries and protocol writing

  • Keep up to date with other research being carried out in, or related to, their field of study

  • Assist in the interpretation of experiment results

  • Align with all company safety regulations and procedures

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor or Master in Biology or Biochemistry

Experience

  • 2-3 years experience with chromatography process development for antibodies or other bio therapeutics and AKTA systems.

  • Experience with analytical methods is a pre.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • You can work independently as well as in a team, have strong communication skills, and can organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

  • You have solid knowledge of the English language.
