Job Title: Land Mobile Radio Installer Net Ops Specialist

Location: Fort Johnson

Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance

Compliance: DOD 8140

Job Summary: The Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Installer Net Ops Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of LMR systems within a military environment. The specialist will ensure that all radio communications infrastructure is operational and meets the required standards for secure and reliable communication. This role involves working closely with other network operations specialists to ensure seamless integration and functionality of radio systems across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and test Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and security requirements.

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of LMR systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Collaborate with other network operations personnel to integrate LMR systems with existing network infrastructure.

  • Conduct system diagnostics and repair faulty LMR equipment, including radios, antennas, and related hardware.

  • Monitor LMR network performance and security, implementing necessary updates and patches to maintain DOD 8140 compliance.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on the proper use and functionality of LMR systems.

  • Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and system performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with all security protocols, regulations, and procedures related to LMR systems.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the procurement and installation of LMR equipment.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in LMR technology and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Secret Clearance, will process for T5 investigation.

  • Must meet DOD 8140 compliance requirements.

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred; equivalent military or technical training will be considered.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in installing and maintaining Land Mobile Radio systems.

  • Proficiency in radio frequency (RF) technology, LMR systems, and related communication equipment.

  • Strong understanding of network operations and the integration of LMR systems with broader communication networks.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex technical issues with LMR equipment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support end-users effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to security protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor settings, with exposure to various weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as needed for antenna installations.
