Job Summary
Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.
Reports to: Director of Physical Therapy Sevices
FLSA: Non-exempt
Essential Functions
Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
Nonessential Functions
Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Job Requirements
Minimum EducationX Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) □Other__ □Other_ Licenses: Current and active Occupational Therapist license in the State of Tennessee.
