Role: Director Regional Marketing Lead, East Region

Department – US Marketing (Neuroscience)

Summary

Lead a team consisting of one Director of Strategy and Operations and 4 to 5 Associate Directors of Regional Marketing who will be field based, non-sales employees focused on driving deep relationships with the US Psychiatry community. The four key areas that the Senior Director will oversee are: 1) Champion her/his team within home-office interactions and support the right business cases to meet the needs of the team, 2) Strategically lead Thought Leader engagement and Pharmacy Channel across a matrix, 3) Lead all related executive encounters with internal leadership and 4) Build a world-class team with relevant experience in the psychiatry space. In this role, the Sr. Director will work cross functionally with matrix leaders (in the field and home-office) to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy and tactical execution. This role is responsible for leading enhanced interactions and business results through the successful leadership and management of the Psychiatry Regional Marketing team. The Senior Director is expected to not only build a national field organization suitable to support business goals in a competitive marketplace but work in a collaboratively way across other Senior Directors leading Regional Marketing teams.

Responsibilities - include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish BMS as a credible and trusted partner amongst the thought leaders in Psychiatry

  • Give direction on establishing Commercial Strategic Advisory Councils

  • Support the brand’s commercial KOL needs at conferences (National and Regional Level)

  • Develop and lead the execution of the commercial advisory board strategy

  • Oversee the execution of the HCP disease education

  • Advance organizational capabilities and effectiveness by embedding the Regional Marketing function within critical work streams as appropriate.

  • Works to source, hire, orient and train the Director and Associate Directors in Regional Marketing

  • Strategically assess and identify critical analytics information required to successfully achieve goals and lead the relevant home-office discussions

  • Define the culture, structure and future direction of the Psychiatry Regional Marketing team

  • Set clear objectives, coach, mentor and assess performance and skill level to develop future leaders within BMS

  • Achieve Day 1 Launch readiness in Psychiatry for pre-approval and post approval activities

  • Provide strategic customer insights to the marketing leadership team to assist in the developing a strong internal Psychiatry culture within BMS

  • Work collaboratively with multiple matrix partners in developing and refining business plans to achieve brand objectives

  • Conduct and ensure all aspects of business in compliance with BMS’s values, policies, SOPs, and the laws, regulations and codes that apply to our business.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or MBA

  • A minimum of ten years within the specialty pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device in one or preferably more of the following; HQ marketing, Sales/Sales leadership or medical/clinical experience

  • A breadth of experience; combination of HQ and field experience required. Psychiatry and launch experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a large field-based organization

  • Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentations to the needs of the audience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong project management experience, including superior analytical and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to execute strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines

  • Ability to travel - >50% of the time based on geography.
