Purpose and Scope:

Performs metal cutting, forming, bending, fitting, fabrication, and assembly in accordance with drawings, sketches, verbal instructions, and blueprints.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Competent in all forms of layout, fabrication, and installation of ductwork, siding, and roofing components.

• Must be familiar with Swamp Cooler Maintenance and repair.

• Welding, braising, and soldering skills must include ferrous and nonferrous metals.

• Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment, must be able to climb and work off of ladders, elevated platforms, and wear fall arrest gear.

• Must have normal color vision, freedom from fear of heights and confined spaces.

• May be required to wear a respirator.

• Must comply with all Safety practices and Environmental regulations.

• Must be able to research, specify, and order materials.

• Must be able to research, specify, and order materials.

• Must have computer skills to include computer-based time keeping programs and MS Office products.

• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Possess Journeyman status per union rules.

• No rehires, unless approved by local HR/LR.

• Must be able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance (TSSSBI) and access to the work location.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. ​

• Must pass pre-hire drug screening and Fit-for-Duty physical.

• Must be able to work in a remote location with limited medical personnel and facilities.

• Will need to bring: Social Security Card, original state issued birth certificate or Naturalization Certificate and valid driver's license.

Additional Mandatory Qualifications:

• OSHA-10 card, Construction Industry

• CPR/First-Aid card

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

• Typical construction environment with associated hazards, occasional lifting to 40 pounds, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness.

• Must be physically able to obtain certifications required to perform job duties. Must be able to work in locations as high as 100 feet above ground level and possess knowledge and experience to be able to perform all assigned duties in particular area of expertise.

• Use personal protective equipment as required.
