EVS Shift Manager The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)
Description:
Summary: The EVS shift manager plans, organizes, executes and controls work activities of assigned team employees to maintain the highest possible cleanliness standards and good public relations. Ensure the safety, health and morale of guests and employees by providing a clean, attractive and safe environment. Coordinates with other department heads in carrying out responsibilities. Follows all operating procedures, safety regulations, and Stratosphere policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Plans, organizes and controls the work activities of the employees of the assigned shift
Coordinates, with other department managers, the duties that must be performed in their areas or request for repairs and maintenance to the building, furnishings and equipment as required
Ensures that all equipment is clean, in good repair and used in accordance with manufacturing guidelines
Knowledgeable of all OSHA regulations as well as federal, state and local regulations as they relate to the proper cleaning and maintenance of the property as well as the handling of biohazardous material
Inspects and surveys public areas for compliance with cleanliness standards and departmental schedules
Assists in the interviewing, hiring and termination of departmental employees
Issues complementary notices as well as disciplinary notices in a fair and equitable manner and in accordance with company policy
Delegates appropriate authority and responsibilities to supervisors and employees of assigned shift
Assists in the preparation of departmental reports including but not limited to schedules, budgetary items, supply usage, employee time keeping and personnel records, etc. using both manual and computerized methods
Ensures proper training of employees on issues including but not limited to proper use of the chemicals and solvents, equipment, MSDS facts, section responsibilities and duties.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
Proficiency in all duties expected of subordinates
Ability to perform each essential duty according to Stratosphere'
s cleaning standards
Two years of college education or at least one year of public area or housekeeping cleaning experience preferred
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to communicate in written and oral form and speak in front of employees and management in English
Ability to work with the public and other employees in a friendly and professional manner.

Physical Requirements
Ability to tolerate a fast-paced environment where the employee is regularly exposed to cigarette smoke, loud noise, chemicals and solvents
Regularly required to assist with the lifting and moving of heavy items including but not limited to furniture, boxes and other heavy or bulky items
Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull and maneuver items up to 100 lbs.
Ability to work with cleaning products, chemicals and solvents using safety equipment provided by the company, and read Material Safety Data Sheets written in the English language
Ability to work with electrical equipment
Ability to use heavy commercial and industrial equipment to clean floors, carpets, sidewalks and parking areas
