Job Description
This position serves as the overall assistant to the Chief of the Finance and Operations Division. In this capacity the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of the budget development and implementation processes for the Department. This includes attending legislative budget hearings and providing testimony, overseeing all restricted and federal revenue projections, and monitoring the entire Department budget for both operations and capital improvements. The incumbent is also responsible for the review, oversight, and identification of the programmatic and financial impacts of proposed statutory changes, fund fiscal management, and the oversight of the financial responsibilities of over 100 federal grants. Additional programmatic supervisory areas include the implementation of policies and procedures, travel regulations, coordination of centralized service payments, monitoring of the Inter Departmental Grant (IDG) supporting information technology, annual updating of Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT), internal controls, and audits. It directs the staff of the Division in the performance of work necessary to fulfill the mission of the Department. This position also serves on the Division’s management team, participating in policy and operational decisions relating to Division-wide goals and objectives.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
