Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Type at least 30 words per minute. * Valid driver\'s license or obtain one within 30 days of employment. * Advanced knowledge of English grammar and spelling, standard office equipment, and emergency service organizations and functions. * Minimum of 5 years\' experience as a public safety dispatcher, or a satisfactory combination of experience and training. * Have or obtain DPSST Basic Telecommunicator\'s, LEDS, and Emergency Medical Dispatch certifications. * Obtain Intermediate Telecommunicator Certification from DPSST within one year and complete supervisory training requirements within two years of appointment. * Possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification within six months of employment. * Successfully complete department written, interview, background, psychological, medical, and drug screening. Duties: * Perform supervisory and administrative work as first-line supervisor of a group of 911 dispatchers engaged in performing dispatching functions on an assigned shift. * Receives information regarding emergency and life-threatening situations and facilitates the necessary resources to mitigate them. * Participate in interview processes and provide recommendations for hire. * Perform duties of the Communication Technicians as workload and staffing levels dictate. * Enter police report data and perform regular audits of entries. Correct or return errors for correction as necessary. Prepare and maintain reports as required. * Investigate dispatch-related complaints and take necessary actions to ensure correction or resolution. * Maintain confidentiality of official business and records. * Complete and maintain all DPSST mandated training and certification requirements. * Additional duties as assigned. Wage and Benefits: * Starting salary range \$22.90 - \$24.77 per hour. Entire scale for the position is \$22.90 - \$28.97 per hour.
