Intel is embarking on a tremendous expansion journey. We have very exciting opportunity based in Kulim, Malaysia. We are looking for a full time candidate to join Malaysia Customs and Trade Facilitation team to drive site customs and trade facilitation program.

Malaysia Trade Specialist of Manufacturing, KATM6 will be responsible for supporting manufacturing site team for Customs Management and Regulatory Audit to ensure barrier-free trade, establish effective internal controls to protect the Company, optimize trade performance, and reduce our cost to serve Malaysia business units and sites. This role must ensure that the core disciplines of Customs Management and Regulatory Audit is fully implemented to deliver best in class Malaysia customs compliance processes that scale. The role will interface with teams across Malaysia manufacturing sites including internal business leaders, legal, supply chain, finance, external brokers, and customs authorities to provide key inputs that inform business decisions and manage, monitor, and improve preventive and detective trade compliance controls. The individual will participate in Intels interactions with Malaysia government agencies for defined matters in partnership with Government Affairs and site Public Affairs.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Trade Compliance professional and demonstrate an on going curiosity and creativity, balanced with the ability to distill numerous inputs and ideas into meaningful actions and recommendations. The successful candidate will bring excellent technical acumen in Malaysia trade compliance and regulations, influential interpersonal skills, government network, commitment to cross-collaboration, and customer focus to enable business solutions.

Responsibilities: Customs Management - Provide timely support for all cross-border operations in Malaysia manufacturing sites, including site related activities, and ensuring compliance related to duty optimization programs ,e.g. Duty Free Compliance, DFC program. - Ensure valuation, classification, origin, incoterms, Trade mode Malaysia specific, and all Customs requirements are fully satisfied to expedite cross border movements and ensure compliance. - Regular review of Customs brokers, agents, and service providers to ensure adherence to service agreements, scope of work SOW, and compliance obligations. - Review and assess customs broker service provider standard operating procedures to expedite cross border transactions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements throughout Malaysia manufacturing sites. - Act as the go to person to address shipment specific issue management, customs inquiries and escalation as required. - Ensure appropriate coordination and consultation with local teams, regional teams, business units, and other related entities to support site level requirements. - Support Malaysia manufacturing sites Customs and Other Government Agency authorities ,OGA for inquiries and coordinate with key stakeholders on response plans based on nature of the inquiry. - Oversight and support the implementation, management, and expansion of Trade Security Programs in Malaysia such as AEO. - Participate and represent APJ CTF, as required in ITG's internal, or site business unit projects. - Represent CTF in assigned business expansion core program team and or core project team.

Regulatory Audit - Maintain an internal control program that demonstrates the accuracy of Malaysia manufacturing sites Customs transactions, including documenting and implementing internal controls; conducting self audit of customs transactions based on annual risk assessment; proposing appropriate adjustments to internal controls; and maintaining an audit trail for Customs declarations. - Manage and execute all post clearance activities to ensure Intel is appropriately responding to Customs inquiries and submitting post entry corrections in a manner that demonstrates reasonable care. - Develop and publish Customs and Trade Facilitation metrics that measure program effectiveness and duty free compliance program benefits. Ensure site complies with material reconciliation and asset tracking requirements. Leverage data to continuously improve Customs and Trade Facilitation at Intel. - Develop and deliver Malaysia manufacturing sites Customs and Trade Facilitation compliance training to site and leadership team.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree ,e.g., JD, MBA, etc. is highly desirable. - 5 plus years' experience in customs and trade facilitation in Malaysia, global or regional exposure. - Certifications such as Malaysia Customs Broker, Project Management, Six Sigma is highly welcomed. - Expert understanding of customs regulations and processes in Malaysia. - Strong working knowledge of duty optimization programs, Customs Valuation, Rules of Origin and Harmonized Tariff Classification. - Project management experiences in Trade, IT, Technology solutions will be an added advantage. - Experience communicating with government trade regulators and senior business leaders. - Able to communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and accurately with different levels and present to groups with confidence. - Problem-solving aptitude with attention to detail and outstanding organizational ability - Strong English and Malaysia National language written and verbal communication skills.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
