Summary

The Indirect Procurement team is responsible for sourcing and purchasing of non-production goods and services in categories such as facilities, MRO, IT, HR, insurance, legal, audit, financial services,

manufacturing and automation equipment, training and education as well as marketing and communication.

This role is suited for candidates who have experience in collecting and defining scope of work with business partners requiring the services and/or goods. Candidates should have a track record of timely execution whether for short/quick RFQs or for more complex sourcing activities based on strong, clear

and comprehensive RFx process including Q&A and scorecards, resulting in selecting the best partner with competitive terms and conditions.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains global and/or regional responsibility for a complex commodity or group of commodities for price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms and conditions, supplier relationship development and performance.

  • Develops and executes a procurement strategy for commodity or services including competitive benchmarking, technology direction, supplier analysis, development, selection and pricing strategy.

  • Responsible for all product or service sourcing.

  • Participates in the Commodity Council Corporate negotiation teams or individually.

  • Participates in the Customer Materials Commitment process through collection of materials pricing and Customer BOM analysis.

  • Acts as primary contact for site or customer support.

  • Quotes and negotiates quarterly all products or major services either regionally or globally.

  • Conducts customer bids within the response time objectives.

  • Responsible for supplier performance reviews including performance reviews, business development and supplier awards programs.

  • Has frequent interaction and negotiation with senior executives of industry leading multi-national companies.

  • Provides support to their internal customers to resolve quality, serviceability and performance related issues.

  • Identifies the supply vs. demand for all allocated products and communicate the proportioning of these items by geography and customer.

  • Consolidates and escalates all critical shortages and resolves issues.

  • Provides product cost support for products in assigned geographies.

  • Prepares bids including generation of BOM, cost analysis, negotiate with suppliers, and present bids to management.

  • Updates material prices database, analyze bill of materials for competitiveness and customer compliance, review with management.

  • Provides guidance to less experienced Commodity Management staff.

  • Provides guidance to counterparts at the sites to ensure process compliance.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Ability and initiative to independently prepare sourcing packages that meet the needs of Celestica including determining companies to consider/qualify/solicit to participate in sourcing activity.

  • Evaluate Celestica’s historical spend as well as market information/factors to derive insights useful in preparation of and during the sourcing cycle.

  • Solid negotiation skills required.

  • Seeking assertive, focused, motivated and engaged sourcing professionals.

  • Commitment to objectives including timelines/deadlines are crucial.

  • Experience in drafting and debating contractual terms to finalize agreements with legal parties and suppliers is a must.

  • Some experience in procuring non-production services and/or goods is required.

  • Advocating and upholding policies/procedures is also a must.

  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, changing environment.

  • Ability to coordinate work with other sourcing and category professionals in the global team.

  • Performance is based on timely, quality results that drive value through competitive Terms & Conditions’ including cost containment and reduction.

  • Accountable, responsible, ethical, pragmatic.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers and Stakeholders

  • Communication and writing skills in English, Thai and Malay are required and knowledge in Chinese language is an added advantage.

  • Experience using e-procurement systems/modules is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment – hybrid work model possible

  • Team with a global footprint requires some interactions with colleagues across different time zones in the world.

Typical Experience

  • 4 – 6 years working experience

  • Evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion

  • Previous experience in contract drafting, review of legal (with internal counsel) and commercial terms, negotiating favorable and relevant terms.

  • Global experience, specifically with Asia.

  • Experience in procurement and strategy building.

Typical Education

  • Minimum education Diploma or Degree in related fields or a consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience (Procurement and/or purchasing designations an asset).
