Emerson Finance Director (m/w/d) in KORSCHENBROICH, Germany

By joining our office in Korschenbroich, Rhineland, you will become part of Sempell GmbH (Emerson Group, Final Control Business Unit) , one of the world's leading valve manufacturers and suppliers of conventional and nuclear power plants and the chemical industry with control, safety and shut-off valves!

With commercial responsibility and title Finance Director (m/f/d ), you will become part of the site management team, with continuous presence in the Korschenbroich office.

With the management responsibility of 4 employees in Germany, and collaborating closely with Shared Services Centers, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations, daily interacting with senior leadership.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Developing and implementing Korschenbroich business strategies with Nuclear/Final Control BU and local Management Teams

  • Coordinating the most functions within the department: Tax, FP&A, Controlling, Administration, Fleet, Shared Service Accounting (German and US GAAP), Reporting (internal and external)

  • Preparation of monthly financial documents, budget and presentations for European management

  • Monitoring of controlling with regard to the income statement, working capital and investment planning

  • Strategic alignment of companies, merging and optimization of companies

  • Responsibility for internal and external audits, taxes

  • Compliance with and updating of "US GAAP Accounting Standards" and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), as well as German statutory requirements

  • Participation in the continuous improvement of processes with the Shared Service Center Accounting Integration in Cluj, Romania

  • Supporting and partnering with the General Manager, sales directors, and other important business partners

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or economics

  • Proven experience in a senior financial management position responsible for implementing internal financial controls and business systems

  • Familiarity with tax, financial and corporate law and its practical applications

  • Experience in managing, developing and training employees

  • In-depth knowledge of common ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Hyperion) and hands-on experience with a range of Microsoft and other strategic business applications

  • Ability to work successfully in a matrix organization and to interact with strategic management

  • Proficiency in English and German language

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Proven qualifications in accounting as well as experience in auditing and/or taxes
