Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Apprentice Pipefitters for projects located in Knoxville, TN . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment such as supports, hangers and valves according to job specifications
Assists in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
Cuts pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw power tools, band saw and pipe cutting machine
Threads pipe using threading machine
Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe
Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen fused or cemented joints and hand tools
Secures pipes to structure with bracket clamps and hangers using hand and power tools
Conducts field layout of the piping system and calculates offsets miters and fittings as required
Requirements
Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove
Ability to read drawings including but not limited to pipe shop drawings mechanical drawings and PID
Must have all proper PPE and tools of the trade
