United States Fleet Forces Command SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in Kittery, Maine

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & CYBERSECURITY of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, and workforce planning. You will be responsible for architecture and infrastructure planning and management, and information security management in delivery of IT services. You will be responsible for providing technical support and management of the Navy's System Support Group (SSG) for Automated Radiological Controls Management Information Systems (ARMCIS) You will determine program goals for the Department, review progress and results, and recommend program changes. You will manage all information processing resource acquisitions, assuring appropriate user involvement in the acquisition process. You will be responsible for all aspects of Information Management, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Conducts feasibility studies and trade-off analyses. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Provides tools to resolve problems that are causing work stoppage. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. . IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Provides expert advice, guidance and recommendations to management on critical IT issues. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with the design and delivery of all assigned applications. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience identifying personnel, fiscal, material, facility, and other resources required for current and long-term or proposed tasks, and is accountable for the efficient utilization of resources and effective execution of programs/tasks assigned; Experience managing and providing ADP system design, analysis and programming services for updating and maintaining standard programs and core files on the Shipyard's network, for Shipyard users and for higher authority as required; Experience developing technical procedures and standards to follow for review and evaluation of new concepts and systems in determination of the feasibility of applying concepts and systems to support Shipyard Automated Information System (AIS) programs; Experience performing as the primary technical interface on matters pertaining to implementation/utilization of automated information systems; consults with and supports departments/offices on information processing resources, on technical requirements, and on information systems development; Experience performing as primary technical AIS advisor to the Shipyard Commander, to department/offices, and to the Shipyard AIS board, participating in all long and short range AIS plan development.
