DESCRIPTION OF WORK You will collaborate closely with the Automotive Equipment Foreman to acquire the necessary skills for safe and efficient operation within an automotive garage environment. You will develop competencies for conducting general repairs and maintenance on automobiles and light trucks. Furthermore, you will either assist in or carry out various repair and maintenance tasks. Upon demonstrating proficiency, you will utilize power, hand, and air tools. It is essential to maintain cleanliness and serviceability of the work area and tools/equipment. Do not hesitate to inquire about any uncertainties or new challenges you may face. Always practice and comply with safety protocols. You may be expected to travel to various work sites, facilities and attend field activities within the District and throughout the state.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
If you are selected for this position, you will work directly with your workplace supervisor to determine a work schedule that coordinates with your school schedule. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age. You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Additional Requirements:
Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.
Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
