DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders of the PennDOT Welcome Center, including the traveling public, tourism industry partners, internal customers, employees, and vendors. Your main focus will be to offer travelers essential information about their visit to Pennsylvania, such as directions and hotel accommodations, with the aim of promoting and encouraging travel throughout the state.

You will also play a key role in enhancing PennDOT's tourism outreach initiatives and strengthening partnerships with the industry. This will involve organizing special programs, information tours, travel shows, and other relevant events. Additionally, you will be expected to take on various travel-support tasks as assigned by your supervisor or division manager.

Furthermore, it will be crucial for you to maintain dynamic and well-informed communication to enhance the operations of the Welcome Center Division. This will involve engaging in direct communication with the Tourist Information Supervisor to address any questions, concerns, or ideas related to the Welcome Center staff and operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday. This position's hours are temporarily 9:00 AM to  5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position includes reporting to work during periods of inclement weather, unless directed otherwise, as part of PennDOT's mission is to serve the traveling public. The location of the PennDOT Welcome Center is: I-276 PA Turnpike Westbound; Milepost 328.4, King of Prussia, 19406. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in work involving public contact; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements:

You must be willing and able to work in and commute to PA Turnpike Welcome Center, I-276 Westbound, Milepost 328.4, King of Prussia, PA 19406. You must have one year of customer service experience You must have one year of work experience involving public contact You must have experience working with computers. You must have experience answering phones, composing emails; compiling reports; tracking office activities and inventory; data entry; and filing. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
