Visually and dimensionally inspects completed work for conformance to verbal/written instruction and specifications. Primarily do TIG welding, typically done on titanium and nickel alloys that are 30-80 though - very thin. Responsibilities: * Completes routine and some advanced welding tasks while applying standard practices. * Properly prepares weld surfaces. * Interprets and follows written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings and documents. * Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures. * Performs fitting of assemblies. * May train others on prior job experience. * Repairs some of his or her own parts. * Regularly evaluates his/her own product quality for continuous improvement. * Works under limited oversight. * Meets or exceeds operations standards for efficiency. * Reads and understands router operations, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function. * Knows where to find information at Exotic and asks for help when necessary. * Can move to various work areas easily with experience. * Knows when to stop and finds appropriate interpretation when necessary. * Use of protective clothing, goggles, helmets with protective lenses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries. Education and Experience: * High School Diploma / GED * Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program and/or have equivalent experience. * Hold multiple, basic Exotic Metals weld qualification/certifications, including Fillet Welding as required. * Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Skills and Knowledge: * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds * Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. * Must be able to see details at close range. * Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. * Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel. * Ability to often reach with hand and arms and grasp. * Ability to constantly stand. * Must be able to use mathematics relevant to welding functions. * Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
